Video suite facilities for mental health

Mental health is ideally suited for telehealth-based client consultations and MD/Team meetings. The Hauora Tairãwhiti Mental Health team are already well positioned to further adopt telehealth technologies having made extensive use of PC/phone-based conferencing tools. However there are no suitable dedicated spaces with video/telephone conferencing equipment in either the mental health ward or city centre health offices Te Whare Oranga (Peel Street). It is recommended that a business case is prepared to seek funding to provide suitably equipped video conferencing spaces at Ward 11 and Te Whare Oranga (Peel Street).
