Telehealth Use in Public Hospitals Stocktake 2022-2023

The New Zealand Telehealth Forum partnered with Massey University to complete Telehealth Use in Public Hospitals Stocktake 2022-2023. The stocktake reveals that there are varying degrees of telehealth readiness, with most districts only somewhat or slightly equipped to use telehealth as a tool to facilitate the health reforms and none of the districts are completely equipped to adopt telehealth business as usual. There was evidence of telehealth governance at regional/organisational level but there has been a reduction in telehealth leadership positions within districts, particularly telehealth programme managers; some districts have no dedicated leadership role.
