Electronic responses to dermatology referrals via BPAC started in February 2016, the suspected skin cancer pathway was added in July 2017, and general dermatology pathway was added in October 2018. It evolved from 'Decline with advice' to 'Accept non-contact First Specialist Appointment' in July 2020. Waikato DHB have been evaluating the service with several conference presentations, posters and publications.
